Privacy Policy
Eyecare is committed to respecting your privacy. In general, you can visit the Eyecare website without revealing any information about yourself. Eyecare maintains a database of all its customers and registered users. This includes your name, GOC number (or other professional number), address, phone number and email address. We also store information regarding your subscriptions, past purchases and number of CET points collected with us. Our registered users can access and edit this information via the “My Account“ section of the website when logged in. When processing orders on the Eyecare website we require you to confirm or provide your name, billing address, phone number, email address and credit card information. We use this information to process your order and, if any questions should arise, to contact you about your order. All details are collected and transferred using secure methods. We do not store your payment details after we have processed your payment.
Any information provided by you will be used for Eyecare’s purposes only. Your information will not be shared with individual or other companies (such as direct mail organisations or other third parties unconnected with the provision of Eyecare’s activities) unless required by law or unless you have agreed to a particular request for information to be shared. However, in order to comply with the General Optical Council (GOC) Enhanced CET Scheme, every time you undertake CET with us (either by submitting results to distance learning or by attending a conference) we will upload your GOC number and surname to the GOC website. This information is used solely for the purposes of awarding your CET points under the compulsory GOC scheme. We also provide a professional number and surname to the relevant professional bodies in Ireland, Sweden, Norway and New Zealand when members of those associations undertake CET with us. Where your subscription is paid for by your employer we may also pass those same details to your employer to make them aware of your participation.
There may be times when we may request additional information from you, for example when we conduct a survey. When additional information is requested, we will try to let you know at the time of collection how we intend to use it. We do our best to maintain the accuracy of any personal information you do supply to us. You can help Eyecare update and maintain the accuracy of any personal information you supply by using the “My Account” section of the website or by notifying us of any changes to your GOC Number, address, title, phone number or e-mail address.
